Dear Fellow Toastmasters,

I  invite you to attend  the Annual General Meeting (AGM) for Toastmasters of The Hague. It will be held at the next regular TMOTH meeting on May 3.

The agenda of our meeting is as follows:

1. Opening
2. Club officers reports
3. Financial report 2011-2012 and budget for the year 2012-2013
4. Election of new Officers
5. Q&A

Because of the Constitution of our club, we need at least 14 members present at the meeting to have a valid vote.

Last Saturday’s Division J Conference was a big success with 60+ Toastmasters and guests in attendance. I am proud to announce the winners of the speech contests:

Evaluation Contest:

1st place:  Mathilde Teuben (Rotterdam TM)

2nd place:  Ian Cherington (Amsterdam TM)

Ian will be representing Division J in the District 59 Evaluation Contest in Poznan, Poland on May 26 because Mathilde will be out of the country.

International Speech Contest:

1st place:  Daniel van Doorn (Twente TM)

Daniel will represent Division J in the District 59 International Speech Contest Semi-final In Poznan, Poland on Friday May 25.

2nd place:  Menchu Hernandez (Utrecht TM)

It’s time for Toastmasters in the Netherlands to “make beautiful music together” once again! The Spring 2012 Division J Conference will be held on Saturday, April 21 at the beautiful Utrecht Music Conservatorium. You are invited to bring friends and family to enjoy this special program that has been organized to extend and maximize your Toastmaster experience.

Highlights:

Keynote Speech: “Re-Evaluating Evaluations: Make those 3 ½ Minutes Count!” by John Zimmer, Geneva
Professional Development workshop: “Lead your Life to Balanced Success – Key Strategies that Work” by Lars Sudmann, Brussels
Special visit by District 59 Lt. Governor Education & Training Joao de Mendonça, Lisbon
Division-level Evaluation Contest showcasing winners of the Area J2 and Area J3 contests (English)
Division-level International Speech Contest showcasing winners of the Area J2 and Area J3 contests (English)
1st time ever!: presentation of the winning speech from the Area J1 Dutch-language speech contest (Dutch)
And, as always, meeting, greeting, networking and learning along with fellow Toastmasters.

It will be a full day of contests showcasing the best speakers in NL, high level educational sessions with guest speakers from Switzerland and Belgium, and seeing your TM friends from other parts of NL.

Remember, this day is planned for YOU so I look forward to seeing YOU there!

Dear toastmasters,
On the 1st of March, we will hold our spring club speech contest. This time around the the following competition will be held:
- Evaluations contest
- International Speech contest (you should have completed project # 1 thru project #6 from your competent communication manual)

As you guys know, we can not hold a competition without contestants. We still need contestants for both competitions. Please send Chantale e-mail or give her a call if you want to compete. It is very fun and nice experience to be a contestant.

Who knows, it might be your first step in competing at the international speech contests in Orlando Florida this year. Hope to hear from you!

Also judges team has places available. If any of you (including members from other clubs) are interested, please feel free to contact Chantale.
