Toastmasters of The Hague

Dear toastmasters,
On the 1st of March, we will hold our spring club speech contest. This time around the the following competition will be held:
- Evaluations contest
- International Speech contest (you should have completed project # 1 thru project #6 from your competent communication manual)

As you guys know, we can not hold a competition without contestants. We still need contestants for both competitions. Please send Chantale e-mail or give her a call if you want to compete. It is very fun and nice experience to be a contestant.

Who knows, it might be your first step in competing at the international speech contests in Orlando Florida this year. Hope to hear from you!

Also judges team has places available. If any of you (including members from other clubs) are interested, please feel free to contact Chantale.

Please welcome our new member– Bart van der Wielen. In the meeting on January 5th, he performed his very first role in TMOTH as a timekeeper, which was well done.

Joining a toastmasters club is like opening a door to improve your communication and leadership skills. I wish Bart will have a pleasant journey within toastmasters and make progress quickly.

Kees van der Waals who gave his first speech on March 17, 2011 accomplished his CC (competent communication) manual on December 12, 2011.

Our dear member Harold Koster completed ACG (advanced communication gold) progress on December 1, 2011.

Our Xmas party is on Thursday, December 15th @ 19:45. You are welcome to join us!

Are you still uneasy about standing and speaking in front of the group; not familiar with the workings of the club? Or would you just like to practice your one more time before taking the stage and get feedback? Are you interested in helping new members into the club? Then mentoring is for you. We are trying assign newer members to mentors, more experienced toastmasters. You can talk to Gerald afterwards who coordinates mentoring and fill out a form so we can help you.
